Hotel Hotetur Deauville comfortable and attractive, this hotel is located on the other side of the Malecón , with a view out over the bay. On the first floor, there is a restaurant called “Carta Nostra”, stylishly decorated with tables facing the sea. You will find fast-food North American style, or alternatively a buffet service. However, meal times in the hotel are a bit restricted; for example, breakfast is served from 7a to 10a, while the evening meal is served only from 7p to 10p. Cuban pesos are not accepted in payment.
This place doesn’t look like much from the outside and things don’t get significantly better inside. The entire structure suffers from significant wear and tear, but throughout 2008, rooms were getting a complete makeover. However, it is located right on the Malecón and most rooms have a private balcony overlooking the sea. The views from the rooms on the higher floors are wonderful, and the corner rooms — with windows on two sides — are particularly nice. The Deauville does a brisk business in package tours, and is often full with French and German groups. The rooftop pool here is a popular spot. The hotel’s advertised rates are a bit high for what you get, but if you’re booked here as part of a package, or if you can get a lower rate, this is a pretty good option for a few days in Havana. The restaurants and inclusive buffet breakfast are embarrassments.
