Probably the best Casa in Cuba. 2 minute walk to town centre. Room was spacious and clean – air con and fan included. The parents of the house spoke great English. In terms of breakfast and dinner – I don’t eat as well at home! Family were extremely helpful and friendly. Thoroughly recommend the place and can’t wait to go back myself.

We were treated like a part of family. We stayed 5 days. They helped us with everything. It was our best experience with casas particulares. Not so colorful but has heart of Cuba, just like Santiago.

The whole family welcome you into their house. Beatrice was especially helpful and friendly. She genuinely wants visitors to enjoy their stay as much as possible. I highly recommend requesting the ‘top’ room, although you do have to endure a chatty rooster early in the morning!

Beautiful colonial casa in the heart of Santiago, the casa is very close to the city centre, rooms are spacious clean and with air conditioner. The food in Casa Nivia is simply divine!!!! Lots of different dishes served every day. The dinner is served in the internal courtyard. The family of Casa Nivia are really lovely and friendly, and Nivia is just wonderful, ask for some recipes, she knows everything about Cuban food!

This is a very old property with large ceilings and airy rooms. The family were very friendly and were happy to assist us with all our requirements during our stay. The food was wonderful. The property is close to the centre.

We stayed in a few casas and this was the only one where the room had big windows and a balcony. This made it much more homely and nice to stay in when we weren’t out and about. The room was large with an en suite with hot water at all times. The location was excellent, only a short walk up the street to the main square, as 2 girls it felt safe. This was very much a family home with a nice open courtyard. The daughter spoke excellent English and translated over the phone if needed. We stayed 5 nights, but did not eat there so can not comment on food. For info if you are interested we spent a night in the rainforst after climbing Pino Tinquino (cubas highest mountain). You can book this the day before at cubatours. We recommend this but it is a tough walk.

the peole are so very nice, I really like them. The family is very warm and friendly, Beatriz and het husband are very good cookers. You can eat there very well. The casa is just a few meters from the city and near by the carnaval of santiago in juli. In het gezin leven twee jonge kinderen.
